The Steady Spark

ENTP-ASA variant of ENTP

Loudest at the table. News still in the pocket

The Steady Spark (ENTP-AS), illustrated portrait

Introduction

Steady and Self-reliant on top of the Spark: things take longer to reach you, and when they do, you carry them yourself. You're the funniest person at the table, and the news from that morning is still in your pocket, unmentioned, because it's yours to sort out.

Under pressure

Pressure doesn't speed you up; it narrows you. The jokes keep coming, the plans keep getting made, and underneath, your attention has gone to one thing and stayed there. Nobody can tell, because the usual noise is still on.

From inside it's a quiet room in a busy house. You like it there. You get more done in a bad week than people expect, and the bad week has no witnesses.

When something goes wrong

You tell nobody until it's handled. You talk to people all day, so it feels as if you've said something; you've said everything except that. You'd rather work it out on a long walk than ask, because asking turns it into a discussion, and you have plenty of those already.

The people who love you hear it afterwards, as a story with a punchline. They'd have liked the first draft.

How the two fit

Outgoing plus Steady plus Self-reliant means a lot of talk and one subject that never comes up. The price is that your noise hides your signal: everyone hears you, and nobody notices the thing you're not saying. It goes better when one person hears the real sentence once. The Easy Spark thinks it through with company, the Wandering Spark moves while it's heavy, the Blazing Spark says it all at once.
