The Storm Climber

ISTP-TSA variant of ISTP

A sharp word at four, the garage light on at nine

The Storm Climber (ISTP-TS), illustrated portrait

Introduction

Sensitive and Self-reliant on top of the Climber: things reach you fast and fully, and you take them somewhere private to deal with. A sharp word at four in the afternoon, and by nine you're in the garage with the radio on, a wrench in your hand and the day still ringing.

Under pressure

Pressure reaches you in the body first: a tight jaw, a quicker pulse, a short fuse with small things. You notice everything, the tone of the email, the gap before the answer, and it all lands at once. Your hands get fast and a bit sharp.

From outside it can look like a mood. From inside it's a great deal of information arriving together, and you're sorting it. That's a lot to do while someone asks about lunch.

When something goes wrong

You go quiet and go physical. A run, a repair, a long drive, a very clean kitchen. You tell nobody, partly because it isn't a matter of trust, and partly because the words come later than the feeling does. By the time you could say it, most of it has passed.

The people close to you see the closed door and read distance. It wasn't. It was weather, handled in private.

How the two fit

Sensitive and alone means you feel it all and sort it yourself, often with something repaired by midnight. The price is the nights: hours spent on what an hour of company could have shrunk, while those near you read distance where there was weather. The Solo Climber carries it steadily, the Roped Climber calls early, the Bright Climber says it aloud.
